Opportunities to Donate

As college costs keep rising, and students face the challenge of fulfilling the financial demands of a 21st century education, there has never been a greater need to provide support for today’s college and university undergraduates. Through the Theta Xi Educational Foundation of Pittsburgh, there are several ways that you can directly support students in the Western Pennsylvania area.

The Elmer D. Kaelin Scholarship
Elmer Kaelin was an outstanding American who served young scholars in Western Pennsylvania with great distinction. Each year, our Foundation is pleased to award a deserving student a $2000.00 financial award to assist in their academic pursuits on their respective campus. Your contributions to this Scholarship will make it possible for future students to continue their studies and have successful careers upon graduation. Please consider donating to the Elmer Kaelin Scholarship today.

The Beta Sigma Educational Facility/Living and Learning Community
For over thirty (30) years, countless students attending California University of Pennsylvania have had the experience of residing at 728 High Street in California, Pennsylvania. Students have made close friends, achieved academic success, developed exceptional leadership skills, and gone on to very successful careers with the support and guidance of Theta Xi and the Foundations Educational Facility. The Beta Sigma House has long been a tool for student retention and continues to this day to provide housing for students that have difficulty affording on-campus housing. Our California Educational Facility needs your donations today to provide the necessary upgrades and structural improvements to ensure continued positive experiences for our collegians. If you are an alumni member who has directly benefited from your residency at 728 High Street, or if you recognize the importance of supporting this type of living and learning environment, please contact a member of the board today about how you can support our students and our facility in California, Pennsylvania. Special recognition opportunities are available to alumni and friends who make significant contributions to the facility through the Foundation.

Carnegie Mellon University Foundation Scholarship Fund
Created in the late 1950’s, the CMU Fund exits today for alumni and friends to contribute directly to our students at Carnegie Mellon University. When you give to Carnegie Mellon University, you can designate your donation to directly support student scholarships. These funds can support our students in countless ways, including support for leadership conferences, educational programming, and for the campus Educational Facility. The collegians at CMU are exceptional scholars. Your on-going financial support will ensure a legacy of outstanding academic achievement for many years to come.

Your Very Own Endowed Scholarship Program
Today’s college students are facing the most expensive costs associated with receiving a college degree in the history of American Education. Like the Elmer Kaelin Scholarship, you can endow your very own scholarship to help support outstanding students to achieve their dreams of receiving a college degree at a multitude of outstanding institutions of higher learning. Below are a few examples of ways to endow a scholarship:

  1. Name an Endowed Scholarship at your alma mater, to benefit a student each year for academic achievement;
  2. Name an Endowed Scholarship for a family member or loved one to benefit a student in a particular academic discipline;
  3. Join with other Alumni or Friends to honor an individual such as a faculty advisor, housemother, Dean, or Fraternity Brother to benefit a freshman or students with significant financial need;
  4. Endow a Scholarship to directly support a program such as a leadership academy or support to attend a national educational program for college students.

The Foundation Board of Directors are very interested in hearing your ideas on ways to support college students with your very own Endowed Scholarship. Please strongly consider supporting today’s college students in this manner – our students very much need your scholarship support today.

Planned & Estate Giving
The Foundation is very interested in providing financial support for students with your consideration for a planned and/or estate gift. Please contact a member of the Board of Directors if you are interested in giving in this capacity.

General Foundation Fund
If you prefer, a general Foundation Donation will support all of these programs and more! Supporting our young collegians is one of the best investments you could ever make for the continued success of our Country and Western Civilization. If your college memories have lasted a life-time and if you can say that your college experiences had a profound impact on your life, then please support the Theta Xi Educational Foundation of Pittsburgh today.

In whatever manner and in whatever capacity, please give generously to support student scholars. Such contributions are deductible for Federal Income Tax purposes. The Theta Xi Educational Foundation of Pittsburgh is a 501C3 non-profit corporation. In advance, Thank You.
